Brief:
Set in a three-story commercial building behind the KADO shopping complex in Tokyo’s vibrant Omotesando district, this project combines a three-month fashion pop-up store with a filming location for a reality television show.
With its temporary use in mind, the design centers on environmental responsibility and the ease of restoring the premises to their original condition. The clothing on display is shipped to Tokyo from around the world by the celebrities appearing in the show. We proposed repurposing the original shipping boxes as display elements and decorative features throughout the store. Once filming ends, the boxes return to their original purpose, ready to pack and transport the clothing again. By connecting shipping, display, and onward transport in a single cycle, the design gives existing materials new roles and brings the story of fashion in transit into the space.
